    Yes, the account can be accessed through any of our card products or internet banking solutions.

    You can open savings, current, and fixed deposit accounts, as well as specialized diaspora banking accounts.

  8. Can a savings account become dormant?

    No, savings accounts do not go dormant.

  10. Must I visit my branch to request any product or service?

    No, requests can be made through our contact centers.

  11. What do I require to open an account?

    A scanned copy of your signature, a valid BVN or NIN, a passport photograph, proof of address (notarized) and a valid ID

  12. How long does it take to open an account with the bank?

    Accounts are opened within 10 minutes upon submission of complete documentation.

  13. Do I have to get a Notary Public to certify my documents?

    Yes, you can also certify documents at Nigerian Embassies or your local bank.

  14. How do I manage my account while I am abroad?

    You can securely view/operate your account from the FCMB Mobile App and the internet (FCMB Online Personal version). You can also get a debit card to carry out transactions using the account from any country. Our dedicated helpdesk will also attend to all your needs.

  15. How do I get a debit card?

    You will be contacted once your account is opened. Alternatively, you can always send your request to diasporabanking@fcmb.com

  16. How can I fund my diaspora account?

    You can deposit money via international transfers, mobile banking, or online payment platforms.

  17. Do I need a token to conclude any transfer on internet banking?

    No. However, you can request for a token if desired. We also have a mobile token app that can be downloaded on your phone.

  18. Will my account be opened if I do not have/provide my BVN when filling out an application?

    No, it will not, as BVN is mandatory. You can always contact us to provide your BVN if you are already registered or register for the BVN here if you have not done this before.

  19. I already have an FCMB account. Can I still open another account?

    You can open only one account for yourself on the online account opening platform. Please contact us to open additional accounts.
